Tenute Delogu

Winery with a hotel on site. Place with a lot of potential for hotel rooms, but in need of a bit more love. Room was huge but space very weirdly used. Mattress was rock hard, not so comfortable. Staff on site was great and helpful, they also let us use the pool for the whole day after we checked out since our flight out of Alghero was at night. Good breakfast, but we weren’t sure beforehand if it was actually included because it wasn’t stated on booking.com. About 15 min by car to Alghero and right by the airport.

Great, calm location in mid of nature; Highlight was the pool with sun beds for us; the lady who served breakfast was very kind and wanted to make us feel comfortable and happy; unfortunately I think our expectations were higher since the rooms and the winery look quite new and modern on pictures - in our room there was little bit of strange smell and small insects and we were bit disappointed once heard that it is not possible to do a tasting of the wines during our 2-nights-stay. So we chose one of the other wineries close by to taste the Sardinia wines. And note that bed is just around 1.90m max. length so for tall people probably not the most comfortable option.

The good points first, the people are really lovely, kind and friendly I'm sure the wine is great too which I guess gives it a overall good rating. The other side of the establishment is the let down. And definitely isn't 4 star rating. The accommodation is basic dark and unwelcoming but this maybe be just the room we were in at the end in the corner. the area outside of the room was dirty, there were cigarette ends in the window frame and dirty towel left from the last guests. Only one window which opened out onto another room outside wall. No kettle, tea coffee glasses etc. no cleaning service just clean towels once. Breakfast was disappointing and very sparce and exactly the same every day. We were the only people staying for most of the 8 days yet they didn't think to give us a slightly nicer room which was maybe better placed in the grounds.
